iPhoneの新しいメディア規格（HEIF と HEVC）と、外部メディアとの互換性を持たせる為に変換が入ります。
iPhoneのカメラの初期設定では、新規格に対応した「高効率」の状態になっております。
変換による時間消費を回避する手順と致しまして、以下をご参考下さいませ。
❶ 「設定」>「カメラ」の順に選択します。
❷ 「フォーマット」をタップします。
❸ 「互換性優先」をタップします。この設定項目は、HEIF または HEVC フォーマットでメディアを撮影可能なデバイスに iOS 11 以降が搭載されている場合にのみ表示されます。

A: Conversion is entered to be compatible with the iPhone's new media standards (HEIF and HEVC) and with external media.
The iPhone camera's default setting is in "High Efficiency" state to support the new standards. Please refer to the following procedure to avoid time consumption due to conversion.
❶ Select "Settings" > "Camera"
❷ Tap "Format"
❸ Tap "Most compatible". This setting item will only appear if iOS 11 or later is installed on a device that can shoot media in HEIF or HEVC format
